Student answer (Band 6.0)
Fashion trends influence the way people dress today. Every month there are new fashion trends that take the center stage and capture the general population's attention. This new wave of trends emerge from the boom of social media. We have Instagram and TikTok leading this charge as content creators have boomed in the new age of technology. These content creators partner with celebrities, brands and athletes to drive these trends and create more outreach.
Celebrities and athletes collaborate with luxury brands and create branded lines of clothing, shoes and accessories. They influence people with their massive following on social media. This directly impacts how people want to dress in their day-to-day lives. Marketing campaigns have done a wonderful job in creating brands that make the A-list celebrities feel accessible to common people. I firmly believe this influence is a postive development in people's lives.
Fashion trends tend to create a fun atmosphere for everyone where friends can go shopping together, create short videos with wearing latest clothes. It creates a pathway for people to reach global audience. Fashion has no language barrier. This can help professionals and influencers can monetize these trends to score partnerships with fashion brands and collaborate with each other in these online spaces to create content.
I am a big fan of basketball and football. I closely follow NBA and some top football leagues in Europe. Many of my favourtie athletes sign brand deals with companies like Nike, Adidas and New Balance which shape my wadrobe. An example is Lebron James. He has a Nike product line dedicated to himself. I buy his shoes, t-shirts, shorts because of my love for him.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you explain the influence of social media, creators, celebrities and brand partnerships, and you clearly state that you see this as positive. The personal example about buying LeBron James’s Nike products makes the influence concrete and relevant. However, the explanation of why global fashion has become so powerful is stronger than the evaluation of its effects. The benefits are mainly described as shopping with friends, reaching an audience and earning partnerships; these points would be more convincing if you explained their wider significance or acknowledged a possible drawback before defending your view. Some claims, such as fashion having “no language barrier,” are asserted rather than developed. Extending these ideas with specific reasoning would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: it introduces social media as a driver, develops the role of celebrities and brands, gives reasons for a positive view, and ends with a personal example. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and links such as “This directly impacts” and “An example is” guide the reader. At times, however, the progression within paragraphs is less controlled. The third paragraph moves from friends shopping to online audiences and professional monetisation without fully showing how each point connects to the next. Some references are also vague, such as “This can help professionals,” where the reader must infer what “This” refers to. Use clearer topic sentences and more explicit links between each claim and its supporting explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “content creators,” “marketing campaigns,” “brand deals,” “product line” and “monetize,” which helps explain the relationship between fashion and online influence. There are also attempts at more expressive phrasing, such as “capture the general population’s attention.” However, some choices are imprecise or awkward: “create more outreach” does not clearly express the intended effect, and “create a fun atmosphere” is broad. Spelling errors such as “postive,” “favourtie” and “wadrobe” are noticeable, although the meaning remains clear. Aim for more precise collocations and proofread spelling; for example, explain that campaigns “increase a brand’s reach” and that trends “encourage social interaction.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including the clause beginning “as content creators have boomed” and the relative clause in “a Nike product line dedicated to himself.” Most sentences communicate their meaning clearly. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with agreement and sentence construction. In “This new wave of trends emerge,” the singular subject requires “emerges.” The sentence “This can help professionals and influencers can monetize these trends” incorrectly combines two verb structures; use “This can help professionals and influencers monetize these trends.” There is also a missing space after the full stop in “media. This,” and the phrase “with wearing latest clothes” needs a grammatical construction such as “while wearing the latest clothes.” Greater control of these patterns would improve accuracy while preserving your range.
