Student answer (Band 6.0)

Golbal fashion trends are now influencing the modern dressing styles of many individuals through social media platforms and advertising. Some people are supporting this change while critics argue new dressing styles may lead our generation to forget their culture and roots. From my persepective, I partially support this development, because new dressing styles are currently the need of time while we shouldnot forget our local dressing styles and designs.

Today, many individuals are influenced by a modern brands, so many brands are making various designs according to the need of their consumers ,and people are wearing it to look more rich and influencial on their daily lives. For example, Gucci dresses are so expensive to wear but people are still choosing them because of the name of Gucci brand to make them feel special from others however The same quality products can be available in local stores at lower prices.

The global fashion designs are creating influence on people lives through different reasons suchas advertisements, social media and celeberties. For instance, the customer might feel need to buy the dress because his favourite movie actor is wearing that or this shirt is trending on social media platforms. Additionally some modern dress codes are neccesary to wear at the such as work place, schools and colleges, therefore it also increase demand of modern dressing styles.

In conclusion, although the change is need of the time, wearing the cultural dresses are also essential. So their should be balanced approach, wearing just foreign dresses will reduce the local business, and create unequality and unemployment in the society. Nevertheless in work places modern dresses codes should be followed according to rules, while in family functions local dresses should be promoted.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you identify social media, advertising and celebrities as sources of influence, and you give a qualified view that modern fashion can be useful while cultural clothing should be preserved. The Gucci example also supports your point about brand appeal. However, the explanation of how global fashion became influential is more developed than your evaluation of whether this is positive or negative. Claims that modern styles are “the need of time” and that foreign clothing may cause “unequality and unemployment” are asserted rather than clearly explained or supported. Develop the reasons behind your position and connect examples more directly to the effects on people and society to make the response more complete and convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The first body paragraph discusses brands and status, while the next gives other influences, including social media and workplace dress codes. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “Additionally” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes uneven: the Gucci example shifts abruptly to cheaper local products, and the conclusion introduces effects on local business and employment without developing them earlier. Some connections are also unclear, particularly “because his favourite movie actor is wearing that.” Use more precise referencing and make each paragraph build one central point through explanation and evidence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “global fashion trends,” “advertisements,” “social media platforms,” “cultural dresses” and “local business.” These choices make the subject clear, and terms such as “demand” and “influence” help explain the issue. However, several spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations reduce accuracy, including “Golbal,” “persepective,” “influencial,” “celeb erties” (written as “celeberties”) and “modern brands.” Phrases such as “look more rich” and “feel special from others” also do not express the intended meaning naturally. Aim for accurate spelling and collocations, and choose more precise wording when describing status, cultural identity and economic effects.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a concession in “although the change is need of the time” and a reason clause beginning “because.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. Examples include “people lives” instead of a possessive form, “a modern brands,” and “it also increase demand,” where agreement and article use are inaccurate. Several sentences run together, such as the sentence beginning “For example, Gucci dresses…” and the final sentence, making punctuation and clause boundaries difficult to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and possessives, and divide long sentences into clearly punctuated clauses while retaining a range of structures.
