Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, dressing of individuals in numerous way is influenced by the world fashion trends. From my perpective, it has both positive and negative aspects. While it helps in alleviating human interaction with various nationalities, the wastage of dresses as fashion changing rapidly and the manufacturing cost causing a detrimental effects mental health as well as the economic growth of the country.
With the advancement in technoloy, our world has become a global village. People from various countries can connect with eachother. Due to increase in interaction, fashion and entertainment industries become easy to reached. People from various nationalities start idealising actors of other countries, thereby dressing like them. Drama industry also played a vital role in influencing dressing style in people's lives.
These fashion trends have both positive and negative aspects. It help people to interact with eachother by wearing their dresses. Along with that it also helps promoting culture of the country. However, these trends are also causing socio-economic problems. As some individuals cannot afford to buy new clothing frequently, because of finance problems this cause mental health problem to them, thereby lack of confidence to interact. Furthermore manufacturing cost also increases as fashion is changing more rapidly these days. This also results in wastage of clothing

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions and give a mixed view, identifying technology and international entertainment as influences and noting cultural benefits alongside financial and environmental costs. However, the explanation remains limited: the claim that people dress like foreign actors is not illustrated with a specific example, and the positive point about clothing helping interaction is asserted rather than explained. Your position is also not fully clear, since you describe both sides but do not state which you consider more significant. The response is 42 words below the required minimum, which contributes to the limited development. To strengthen the response, explain the mechanisms and consequences in more detail, support them with examples, and make your overall judgement explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining how trends spread, and a paragraph discussing advantages and disadvantages. Linking expressions such as “Due to increase in interaction,” “However,” and “Furthermore” help signal relationships between ideas. Nevertheless, progression is uneven, and the final paragraph moves quickly from cultural benefits to affordability, mental health, manufacturing costs, and clothing waste without fully connecting these points. Some references are also unclear, particularly “This also results in wastage of clothing,” where the link between manufacturing costs and waste needs explanation. Develop one main point at a time, use clearer transitions between the two sides, and add a concluding paragraph that restates your judgement.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global village,” “nationalities,” “manufacturing cost,” and “mental health,” and the reader can generally understand your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “alleviating human interaction,” “fashion and entertainment industries become easy to reached,” and “idealising actors.” Spelling errors, including “perpective” and “technoloy,” also reduce accuracy. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning less immediate. Build a more precise set of phrases for describing influence, affordability, and environmental impact, and check spelling and word forms during revision. For example, use “facilitating interaction,” “became more accessible,” and “admiring actors” in the relevant contexts.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some complex structures, including “While it helps…” and “As some individuals cannot afford…,” but control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors that can make the reader pause. For example, “It help people” needs subject–verb agreement, while “fashion and entertainment industries become easy to reached” has an incorrect verb construction. The opening sentence also has a faulty structure, and the final paragraph contains a fragment beginning “As some individuals cannot afford…”. There are problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries as well. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with subordinate clauses. Proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and complete punctuation.
