Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you identify social media, influencers and modelling shows as ways global fashion spreads, and you express reservations about its effect on cultural identity. However, the response only partially develops the task. The explanation of how trends influence people is brief, and the example contrasting salwar kameez with skirts is not fully explained or clearly connected to the effects on people’s lives. Your view is also mixed: “looking trendy and fashionable is quite excellent” is followed by a warning to preserve culture, but the overall judgement is not made fully clear. The response is 29 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each reason with a specific example and state your overall position directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Paragraphs also have distinct purposes: the first discusses youth and cultural dress, while the second focuses on social media and celebrities. However, progression between ideas is sometimes unclear. For example, “By contrast” introduces skirts after salwar kameez, but the relationship between these examples is not explained. Some linking phrases, including “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “On the contrary,” feel mechanical or do not accurately signal the relationship between the ideas. The conclusion repeats the cultural concern rather than clearly drawing together the argument. Use fewer, more precise transitions and make each paragraph develop one central point in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “global fashion,” “social media influencers,” “modelling shows,” “replica,” and “cultural values,” so the reader can follow the general subject. There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “crucial role” and “mimic their favourite celebrities.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or awkward, such as “the fashion trends are being followed in the worldwide,” “youngesters,” and “healthy competition should takes place.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Aim for accurate collocations and more precise vocabulary when describing influence and cultural change; for example, explain whether people adopt, imitate or adapt particular styles rather than relying on broad references to “trends.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “despite of different religious and cultural values” and a longer sentence beginning “The youth tries hard…”. However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors affect clarity. Examples include “the fashion trends are being followed in the worldwide,” “the youth tries” when referring to people generally, “trends would be change,” and “competition should takes place.” Articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries also need attention. Several sentences run together without appropriate spacing or punctuation, such as the sentence ending “since years Nevertheless.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a correctly formed subordinate clause, then check verb agreement, tense and punctuation.
