Student answer (Band 4.5)
Global fashion become a strong influence on people lives according to my oppinion its a negative development.let me explain why i think its negative the first main negative effect is development in fashinable cloths trends for womens specially is not good thing because its against to the rules of islam in islamic countries like when a women follows a trend of wearing pent and short shirts and leaves their hairs open its much degrads for islamic culture because islam teaches a women to wear abaya in other words we can say that women should must be covered its body with abaya not a single part of body be openly seen for a strangers but now a days 90 to 99% of women follows the trend of fashion this is not a good development because its against to the rules of islam and it may be cause of womens in hell on the day of judgement also including mens so this is reason thats why i think its negative development

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear view—“its a negative development”—and give one reason related to fashion and Islamic dress expectations. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: it does not explain how global fashion became influential, and the negative view is supported mainly by one broad claim about women’s clothing. The statement that “90 to 99%” of women follow fashion is not explained or supported, and the consequences are asserted rather than developed. The response also contains 169 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough explanation or relevant example to cover both parts of the task. To strengthen your answer, explain influences such as social media, advertising, or celebrities, then develop your view with specific, reasoned examples and a conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic line of thought: you introduce a negative opinion and then give a reason connected to clothing and religious culture. The phrase “the first main negative effect” signals an attempt to organise the explanation. However, the response is presented as one long run-on paragraph, with ideas joined mainly by repeated “because” and “also.” This makes the progression difficult to follow, especially where the discussion moves from clothing trends to cultural effects and judgement day. Some links are unclear, and there is no separate introduction, developed body paragraph, or conclusion. Use paragraphs to distinguish your explanation of fashion’s influence from your evaluation, and connect each claim to the next with clear, accurate transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “global fashion,” “trends,” “Islamic culture,” and “development,” so the reader can identify the general subject and your position. The range is nevertheless limited and repetitive, with “negative” and “fashion” used several times. A number of word choices or forms are inaccurate or unclear, such as “degrads,” “fashinable cloths,” and “leaves their hairs open”; these make parts of the argument harder to understand. Some expressions, including “not a good thing,” are also too general for a developed academic response. Build a wider set of precise terms for causes and effects, such as “social media exposure,” “consumer pressure,” and “cultural identity,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to express a reason and its consequence using longer structures, for example, “because it’s against to the rules of islam” and “this is not a good development because…”. However, the response relies heavily on one extended sentence, and attempts to combine several ideas often produce faulty sentence structure. There are frequent problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation, as well as agreement and articles: “a women,” “women follows,” and “should must be covered” are examples. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses accurately. Check subject–verb agreement, modal verbs, articles, and full stops, and vary sentence patterns without joining every point into one sentence.
