Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays many famous personalities and celebrites are attracting the public by becoming style icons and people admire them by reprinting their style and dressing sense. I personally don't encourage this flow of style as this can cause many complications for the young generation.

The first major reason is that many athletes and cinema actors have signed brand contracts which force them to advertise their brand to the public and people start following them. Abhishek Sharma is a cricketer, he is the brand ambassador of a watch brand "xylys" and many people who adores his fashion style start to buy watches.

The second reason is that most of companies reach out to actors and producers with loads of money and in return ask them to promote their acessories in movie scenes and web series. For example many web series on Netflix such as Peaky Blinders, Narcos and Money Heist promote clothes from " Suits Supply " in many scenes which catches attention of many fans and sales of the brand starts to increase rapidly.

The first reason aginst this activity is that lots of funds and savings of parents are spent by children because of this reason which results in wastage of resources and facilities.

The second reason is that many fans are not having money for these accessories so they start doing crimes such snatching, stealing, ransom and extortion which results in increase of crime rates and raise an issue of safety.

overall, global fashion should be stopped by the authorities immediately with appropriate actions and decisions. Many hurdles and problems would rise if necessary actions are not taken to stop this kind of methods and mal practices.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you explain how celebrities and brand partnerships spread fashion, and you state that you view this influence negatively. The examples of a cricketer promoting a watch and clothing appearing in television series help make the causes concrete. However, the negative effects are less fully explained. The claims that fashion leads to wasted family resources and that fans may commit crimes are relevant, but broad; explain the steps linking fashion pressure to these outcomes and support them with a more plausible example. The conclusion also calls for authorities to stop global fashion, a stronger position than the reasons establish. A more measured judgement about its disadvantages, while acknowledging possible benefits, would make your response more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two paragraphs explaining the influence, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “The first major reason” and “The second reason” help readers follow the points. However, the repeated numbered structure feels mechanical, and “The first reason against this activity” is not clearly connected to the preceding discussion of causes. The paragraph about crime also moves quickly from fans lacking money to serious offences without explaining the link. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main idea, and add transitions that show how examples support it. Clearer referencing and a more balanced progression from causes to effects would improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “brand contracts,” “brand ambassador,” “promote,” “accessories,” and “crime rates.” These choices make the subject clear, and some phrases show an attempt to use more specific language. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “reprinting their style,” “this flow of style,” and “many fans are not having money.” Spelling errors, including “celebrites,” “aginst,” and “mal practices,” also reduce precision. Aim for natural expressions such as “imitating their style,” “fashion trend,” and “cannot afford these products.” More accurate collocations and careful proofreading would make your vocabulary more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “which” and “because,” and your meaning is generally understandable. Some sentences are controlled, such as “The first major reason is that many athletes and cinema actors have signed brand contracts.” However, there are errors in agreement and sentence construction: “many people who adores” should be “many people who adore,” while “Abhishek Sharma is a cricketer, he is the brand ambassador” joins two independent clauses with only a comma. Other examples include “most of companies” and “many fans are not having money.” Use articles and verb forms carefully, and separate or connect clauses correctly. Greater accuracy in these patterns would strengthen your otherwise clear communication.
