Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The letter covers all three required points and gives practical, specific instructions: your relative is told to take bus 516, meet Suresh, use the intercom and enter the door code. You also explain why you cannot meet them and say you expect to be home at 5 pm, with dinner and a movie suggested. This makes the purpose clear and addresses the task well. Some details are less fully developed: for example, “go outside to take the dinner” does not specify where you plan to eat, and the route from the station could be clearer about the exact stop and how Suresh will be identified. Adding a little detail and making the evening plan more natural would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information follows a generally sensible order: you explain your absence, give travel and entry instructions, then describe your plans for the evening. Time and sequence markers such as “when your train reach,” “after that,” and “after fininh my meeting” help the reader follow the arrangements. However, most of the letter is presented as one long block, so the separate stages are not easy to scan. Several instructions are joined repeatedly with “and” or “you have to,” which makes the progression feel mechanical. Divide the message into short paragraphs—for travel, access to the house, and evening plans—and use a wider range of linking expressions and clearer references to improve flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough task-related vocabulary to communicate the arrangements, including “train station,” “public stop,” “intercom,” “digital lock,” and “dining table.” The specific bus number, code, and meeting time also make the message practical. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, such as “public stop,” “drop you front of my building,” and “take the dinner.” Spelling errors, including “eneter,” “eatable,” and “fininh,” are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader, although the intended meaning is usually recoverable. Build accuracy by learning common travel and hospitality phrases, and proofread spelling and word forms before sending.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple instructions and longer sentences, and the reader can usually understand the sequence. However, control of basic sentence forms is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors. Examples include “i hope you doing well,” “when your train reach,” and “i will be 5 pm at home”; these need appropriate verb forms and sentence structure. Articles, prepositions, and punctuation also need attention, as in “at store” and the long sequence of instructions joined without full stops. Most clauses rely on repeated “you have to,” so the range is limited. Practise accurate present and future forms, then use shorter sentences to separate each instruction before attempting more complex structures.
