Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining the key arrangements, providing directions, and suggesting evening activities. However, the first bullet point regarding the keys is missing entirely; you mentioned you would be away, but you did not explain how your sister will actually enter the house. To improve, ensure you explicitly state where the key is hidden or who will provide it. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a family member, and the ideas are relevant, though some parts, such as the directions, are slightly unclear and could be more detailed to fully satisfy the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical sequence, moving from the arrival to the directions and then to the evening plans. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition between the directions and the food preparation is abrupt. Paragraphing is also absent, which makes the text appear as a single block of information. To reach a higher band, you should use clear paragraph breaks to separate your ideas and incorporate a wider variety of linking words and phrases, such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition to this', to improve the flow between sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message, such as 'excited', 'childhood', and 'preparation'. However, there are several spelling errors ('currey', 'favrouite', 'rought') and some awkward collocations, such as 'arrived you in my city' instead of 'brings you to my city'. The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common words and try to use more precise verbs and adjectives to describe your plans and directions. Expanding your vocabulary related to travel and household arrangements would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

Your writing contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentences, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder clarity. For instance, 'we are meeting first time' should be 'we are meeting for the first time', and 'I will be arrived' is incorrect tense usage. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and missing articles. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic structures prevents a higher score. Focus on mastering subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage for future arrangements, and proper sentence punctuation.
