Student answer (Band 7.0)
Hey Rohan,
I hope you're doing well and travel safe. I'm looking forward to meet you at this weekends. Unfortunately, I won't be able to see you in the morning because I have work on that day.
Don't worry about how to enter in the house I already made the arrangements. Actually, I gave a spare key to my neighbor, Mrs. Brown. He already know that you're coming and He will assist you.
Most important thing, don't forget to call me when you reach at train station As i book a taxi for you which will take you to my house. However, I need to confirm your timing with diver which I will do when you about to reach at the train station.
Hopefully, I will be home by 8 Pm and after that we'll go to one of the famous restaurant to spent quality of time. Before that make yourself in the home and take rest. I'm so thrilled to see you.
Take care,
Jasvir

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You explained the key arrangements (neighbor), provided instructions for the train station (taxi), and suggested an evening activity (restaurant). The tone is appropriate for a letter to a family member. However, some parts are slightly underdeveloped; for example, the instruction regarding the taxi is a bit confusing, as you mention booking it but then state you need to confirm timing with the driver later. To reach a higher band, ensure that your instructions are clear and easy for the recipient to follow without ambiguity. Overall, the message is clear and the purpose of the letter is fully achieved.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific requirement of the prompt. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Actually', and 'Hopefully' to connect your ideas. While the flow is generally good, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or abrupt. For instance, the jump between the taxi arrangement and the evening plans could be smoother. Additionally, there are some minor issues with referencing, such as the pronoun usage when referring to Mrs. Brown ('He already know'). Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring consistent pronoun reference would enhance the overall cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using words like 'arrangements', 'assist', and 'thrilled'. However, there are several word choice and collocation errors that slightly hinder the natural flow. Examples include 'enter in the house' (should be 'enter the house'), 'reach at train station' (should be 'reach the train station'), and 'spent quality of time' (should be 'spend quality time'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over common collocations and prepositions. Expanding your vocabulary to include more natural phrases would help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. These include subject-verb agreement issues ('He already know'), missing articles ('at train station'), and incorrect verb forms ('I'm looking forward to meet you' should be 'looking forward to meeting you'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization ('He will assist', 'As i book'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall accuracy. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and preposition usage will lead to significant improvement.
