Student answer (Band 7.5)
Dear Rohan,
I hope you're doing well and having a safe journey. I'm looking forward to meet you on this weekends. Unfortunately, I won't be able to see you in the morning because I've work on that day.
Don't worry about getting in the house as I already made the arrangements. Actually, I gave a spare key to my neighbor, Mrs. Brown. She already know that you're coming and She gonna be happy to give you the key and assist you if you need anything.
Most importantly, don't forget to call me when you reach at the train station as I've booked a taxi for you which will take you to my house. However, I just need to confirm timing of your arrival with him. Please give me a call as soon as you reach at the train station.
Hopefully, I'll be home by 8 PM and after that we'll go to one of the famous restaurant to eat and spend quality time. Before that make yourself in the home and take rest. I'm so thrilled to see you soon. Write back when you get a chance.
Best wishes,
Jasvi

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.5
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly explained the key arrangements with your neighbor, provided instructions regarding the taxi from the station, and specified your arrival time along with a suggestion for the evening. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a family member, maintaining a friendly and personal style throughout. The ideas are well-developed and easy to follow, ensuring the reader understands exactly what is required of them. You have fully satisfied the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The letter is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the visit, which helps the reader navigate the information easily. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'However' and 'Most importantly', to link your ideas. While the flow is generally smooth, the transition between the taxi instructions and the arrival time could be slightly more refined. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different topics, and the overall structure is coherent and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using natural expressions like 'make yourself at home' and 'spend quality time'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I've work' instead of 'I have work' or 'I'm working', and 'reach at the train station' (the correct preposition is simply 'reach the station' or 'arrive at the station'). Despite these occasional slips, your vocabulary is sufficient to convey your message clearly and maintain a friendly tone throughout the letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'I'm looking forward to meet you' (should be 'meeting'), 'She already know' (should be 'knows'), and 'She gonna be' (informal/colloquial). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article errors, such as 'one of the famous restaurant' (should be 'restaurants'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication, and the meaning remains clear. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of gerunds after 'look forward to'.
