IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A family member is coming to stay with you. He/she will be arriving by train in the morning, but you won’t be home until the evening.

• explain arrangements you have made for them to have keys and get into the house

• tell your relative how to get from the train station to your house

• say when you will be home and suggest what you could do together that evening

Student answer (Band 7.5)

Dear Rajesh,

I'm writing to inform you about my non-availibility at home till evening.

I hope your're doing great. I'm delighted to hear that you'll come to stay at my home to spend your holidays. However, I've to attend a meeting, so I'll not be at home till dusk. But you don't worry I already informed my neighbours that you're coming and you can take the house keys from them.

Additionally, to reach home walk to the exit gate from terminal number 2 of station. Book a taxi and tell them my address, which I already shared with you and the driver will directly drop you in front of my house.

Furthermore, I'll reach the home by 7 in the evening. I've already made some plans which we'll achieve together. Initialy, we'll have our dinner at an Italian resturant and after that we'll enjoy the most famous ice-cream of the town and spend some quality time together by sharing the updates of our lives.

I can't wait to meet you.
