Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all three bullet points: key arrangements, directions, and evening plans. However, the letter is slightly under the 150-word minimum, which is a negative factor. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat brief and could have been developed with more detail to fully meet the length requirement. For instance, the directions are quite vague, and the evening plans could be more specific. Because the task is not fully completed due to the word count constraint, it falls into the lower band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the arrival arrangements to the directions and finally to the evening plans. Paragraphing is present, though the structure is somewhat informal and could be better managed. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Additionally' and 'Once you reach', but some transitions feel a bit mechanical or simplistic. The overall flow is clear enough for the reader to follow the instructions provided, but the lack of sophisticated linking words limits the score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for a personal letter but lacks variety and precision. Phrases like 'did all arrangements' and 'nothing to be worry' are slightly unnatural or grammatically incorrect. There is some repetition of basic words, and the tone is consistently informal. To achieve a higher score, you should aim for more natural collocations and a wider range of vocabulary related to travel and social arrangements. For example, instead of 'did all arrangements', 'made the necessary arrangements' would be more appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'i am so excited' (capitalization), 'via train' (preposition choice), 'nothing to be worry' (should be 'nothing to worry about'), and 'share our all memories' (word order). While the meaning is generally clear, these errors occur frequently enough to distract the reader. The sentence structures are mostly simple or compound; there is a lack of complex sentence structures that would demonstrate a higher level of grammatical control. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and spacing.
