IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A family member is coming to stay with you. He/she will be arriving by train in the morning, but you won’t be home until the evening.

• explain arrangements you have made for them to have keys and get into the house

• say when you will be home and suggest what you could do together that evening

Student answer (Band 7.0)

Dear Tom,

I hope you are done packing your bags. I verified on the train website and it displays that it will arrive on time in the morning.

Firstly, I won't be home at the time you arrive, I will keep the keys tucked under the garden pot, which is situated at the right hand side of the door.

Secondly, when you get off the train, on the far left corner you will see a board that will lead you to Kipling Bus Terminal. You need to catch 123C bus which will take you to the main intersection Dundas and Britannia. You don't need to cross the roads wait on the same stop for a couple minutes and catch the next bus 35E which will lead you straight to my house.

I will reach home at 4:30 pm in the evening. You are extremely lucky because you will get to witness the famous Karaoke Bar called Chucks which is down the street. As it's the weekend, we can spend some quality time down at the bar.
