IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A family member is coming to stay with you. He/she will be arriving by train in the morning, but you won’t be home until the evening.

• explain arrangements you have made for them to have keys and get into the house

• tell your relative how to get from the train station to your house

• say when you will be home and suggest what you could do together that evening

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Raj,

I just now received your letter and you can't imagine my insight while reading you are coming tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have work day tomorrow and its too late to request off time form my company manager.

Don't worry, I planned everything, when you will arrived at local train station, go to taxi stand just left from the train station. Ask taxi driver for my address and it will be take only 15 minutes to my apartment. I already gave the key of my apartment at the building reception, but lady will request your ID before hand on key to you. After that, you can refresh in apartment , I already arranged a couple of clothes, towel and soup in the right draw from the mirror of the washroom.

Interestingly, I booked table in Ram restaurant, I know you loved there cuisines. I would be come at home approximately 5:30 in evening and after taking the shower we will go to have some dinner in restaurant.

I can't wait for tomorrow and it's just one night , we will sit together.
