Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining the key arrangements, providing directions from the station, and suggesting evening plans. However, the explanation regarding the keys is somewhat vague; you mention a friend will pick up your uncle, but you do not explicitly state how he will gain access to the house (e.g., whether the friend has a spare key). The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a family member, though the development of ideas could be more detailed to fully satisfy the requirements of a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organised into short paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the flow of information. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition between the arrival arrangements and the evening plans feels abrupt. There is a lack of variety in linking words, and some sentences are disjointed, such as 'I informed him the resturant name in which i have planned a dinner party for you.' Improving the use of conjunctions and referencing would help the ideas flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for this task, but it lacks the range and precision expected at higher levels. There are several spelling errors, such as 'accomodation', 'staturday', and 'resturant', which distract the reader. Additionally, some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'accompany you with the conversation'. To improve, focus on using more precise vocabulary related to travel and social arrangements, and ensure you proofread for basic spelling mistakes, which are frequent throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter, including issues with article usage ('the resturant name'), verb tense consistency ('i have meeting'), and sentence structure ('i will late to come home'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing capital letters at the start of sentences and improper comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs.
