IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A family member is coming to stay with you. He/she will be arriving by train in the morning, but you won’t be home until the evening.

• explain arrangements you have made for them to have keys and get into the house

• say when you will be home and suggest what you could do together that evening

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Brother,

I hope you are doing well. It's been ages since we last caught up and I have got some exciting news from you that you are coming to stay with me.

I have received your message that you are coming early morning by train. I am so sorry I am not able to pick you from station because of my urgent meeting out of the city. I will put the keys under the door mat and prepare the fresh breakfast for you.

I will make the arrangements by booking online cab for you. When you arrived at the station you will see the driver holding a sign with your name. He will drop you nicely at my place.

I will be at home around 5pm. I will book the tickets in advance of new movie and also we will have dinner at your favorite restaurant. After having the dinner, we could enjoy night fall at Sahara palace. I am crazy and excited to spend the whole evening with you. Can't wait to see you tomorrow.
