Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response successfully addresses all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly explained the key arrangement, provided directions from the station, and outlined your evening plans. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a family member. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For example, while you mention the key location and the taxi stand, providing slightly more descriptive detail would have made the response more natural and fully developed. Overall, you have covered all requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized, with each paragraph focusing on a specific part of the instructions. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'But', 'One more thing', and 'before that' to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally a bit mechanical, and some transitions could be smoother. Paragraphing is used, but the structure within the paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect your thoughts more fluidly. The overall progression of information is clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You use a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly, such as 'arrangements', 'inconvenience', and 'comfortable'. However, there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'tommarow', 'whice', 'apoloqize', 'inconvince', 'reacg', 'taxy') that slightly distract the reader. While the meaning is never in doubt, these errors indicate a need for more careful proofreading. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise collocations and ensure accurate spelling of common words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an ability to use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses ('I hope your doing well', 'we gonna meet'), missing articles, and punctuation issues. For instance, 'I just i want to inform you' contains a repetition error, and 'when you will reach on railway station' is grammatically incorrect. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall accuracy of the writing.
