Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: explaining the key arrangements, providing directions from the station, and suggesting evening activities. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a family member. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed; for instance, the directions are quite brief, and the suggestion for the evening could be more specific to help the reader visualize the plan. To improve, ensure that each bullet point is expanded with a little more detail to fully satisfy the reader's needs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Unfortunately' and 'After', but the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, though some transitions between ideas feel abrupt, such as the jump from the balcony description to the city exploration. Using a wider variety of linking words or phrases would help the ideas connect more naturally and improve the overall flow of the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for this task, allowing you to communicate your message clearly. You use some informal language suitable for a letter to a relative, such as 'hang out'. However, there are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'blast together a lot fun' and 'response to me'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do show a limited range of vocabulary. To reach a higher band, try to use more natural collocations and avoid literal translations of phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I am glad to hear about you will come' (should be 'that you are coming'), 'This will be work day' (missing article), and 'What should to like to eat?' (incorrect structure). While these errors are noticeable and occur frequently, they rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. Focusing on subject-verb agreement, article usage, and correct verb forms will significantly improve your accuracy.
