Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: key arrangements, directions from the station, and evening plans. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, while you mention the neighbor and the keys, the explanation is slightly confusing due to grammatical slips. You also mention an app for transport but do not clearly explain the evening activity, only stating 'See you in the evening'. To improve, ensure you provide more specific details for each requirement, such as suggesting a specific restaurant or activity for the evening, which would better satisfy the 'fully developed' requirement of higher bands.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is written as a single block of text, which makes it difficult to follow. In IELTS writing, using clear paragraphing is essential for logical progression. You have used some basic cohesive devices like 'as' and 'but', but the flow of ideas is often interrupted by run-on sentences and a lack of punctuation. The transition between the transport instructions and the neighbor arrangements is abrupt. To reach a higher band, you should organize your response into distinct paragraphs for each bullet point and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more smoothly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for a personal letter, but it is quite basic and repetitive. You rely on simple phrases like 'not that much time' and 'my address is'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'mislead' (instead of 'misunderstanding') and 'all yang' (which is unclear). To improve, try to use more precise vocabulary related to travel and arrangements, such as 'navigation app', 'spare key', or 'convenient'. Expanding your range of descriptive language will help you convey your message with more clarity and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede readability. You have issues with sentence boundaries, often creating run-on sentences (e.g., 'I hope you're having a safe travel I am going to share...'). There are also errors in verb tense and preposition usage, such as 'coming from train' (should be 'by train') and 'at door' (should be 'at the door'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. Focusing on basic sentence construction—ensuring each sentence has a clear subject and verb—will significantly improve your score.
