explain arrangements you have made for them to have keys and get into the house
tell your relative how to get from the train station to your house

Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear sister,
I hope you this letter finds you in good health and high spirits.
First of all, I am writing to express my sincere appreciation about you are coming to stay with me at my house in Canada, but unfortunately when you will arrive by train at home in the morning, I would not be able to pick up from the station because I have to stay in office until evening. So, I would be book uber car to get you from station.
Furthermore, I am explaining arrangements that I have made for you to have keys from the nearest rose tree and you will able to get into the house.
Moreover, I am very exciting to meet you but, most probably I will be there after finishing my significant task at office. Afterwards, we will go outside for delicious dinner in the famous restaurant and having sweet brownies together.
I really appreciate for your coming and thank you for understanding.
Best regards,
Lynn

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You explained the key arrangements, provided instructions for the train station, and suggested evening plans. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For instance, the instruction regarding the keys ('nearest rose tree') is vague and lacks the detail needed for a clear, helpful letter. Additionally, the tone is inconsistent; while you use 'Dear sister', the phrasing 'I am explaining arrangements' sounds overly formal and unnatural for a letter to a family member. To improve, focus on providing more natural, descriptive details that fit the context of writing to a relative.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into logical sections, and you have used basic cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Furthermore', and 'Moreover'. However, the use of these connectors is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. The paragraphing is also problematic; the entire body of the letter is contained within one large paragraph, which makes it harder to follow. To improve, use clear paragraph breaks for each distinct topic (e.g., one for arrival/keys, one for directions, and one for evening plans) and try to vary your linking words to create a more natural flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors. For example, 'I would be book uber car' is grammatically incorrect and uses unnatural phrasing. 'Significant task at office' is also slightly unnatural in this context. You have attempted to use some descriptive language, such as 'high spirits' and 'sincere appreciation', which is positive. To reach a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that your word choices are appropriate for an informal letter to a family member.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include 'I hope you this letter finds you', 'I would not be able to pick up from the station' (missing object), and 'I am very exciting' (should be 'excited'). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and your attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors in tense or word order. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions. Proofreading your work for basic errors like missing articles or incorrect verb forms will significantly improve your score.
