Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly explained the key arrangements (leaving them with a neighbor), provided instructions for the arrival (sending a driver), and stated your availability and plans for the evening. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a family member. However, the instructions regarding the train station were slightly underdeveloped; while you mentioned sending a driver, you did not provide specific directions from the station to your house as requested. To improve, ensure each bullet point is fully expanded with sufficient detail to meet the 'fully developed' criteria for higher bands.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the arrival arrangements to your schedule and finally to the evening plans. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate these distinct topics. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Moreover', and 'Apart from this' to link your ideas. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive in their placement at the start of sentences. To reach a higher band, try to vary the way you connect your sentences and ensure that referencing (e.g., 'the station') is consistently clear throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using phrases like 'radiant health' and 'important meeting'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'give presentation of our company new product' (should be 'give a presentation on our company's new product') and 'apologize me' (should be 'apologize to me'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over collocations. Expanding your vocabulary to include more natural idiomatic expressions or precise business terminology would help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are several grammatical inaccuracies throughout the text, such as 'I hope this letter find you' (should be 'finds'), 'you visiting' (should be 'you are visiting'), and 'unable receive' (should be 'unable to receive'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article errors, such as 'at office' (at the office) and '9.am to 11.pm' (9 a.m. to 11 p.m.). While these errors rarely impede meaning, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher band score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of infinitives.
