IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A family member is coming to stay with you. He/she will be arriving by train in the morning, but you won’t be home until the evening.

• explain arrangements you have made for them to have keys and get into the house

• tell your relative how to get from the train station to your house

• say when you will be home and suggest what you could do together that evening

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Saisree,

I'm really looking forward to having you to stay with me. I'm sorry that I won't be at home when you narrive because I have an urgent meeting at office. we will catch up at evening.

I have left the spare key with the neighbour next to my flat after you reached the apartment just tell her your my cousin she will give the keys and explain how to get into the house.After entering the house please remember to lock the door.

As you will be arriving at by train, the easiest way to come to my home is take a taxi from the station.It should take arround 15 mintutes to reach or you can take bus number 15 it drops near the street and walk straight for five mintutes there will be a supermarket and left side of it is my home.

I expec to reach the home by evening around 6 pm after you settled in we will go the near by restaurant and have a nice dinner,if your are not too tired we could take a short walk on near by park.

I can't wait to see you .Have a safe journey.
