Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You explain the key arrangements (handing them to a friend), provide directions from the station, and suggest evening activities. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, the directions are slightly confusing ('in case he has to somewhere') and the description of the evening activities is brief. While the task is addressed, the lack of clarity in some areas prevents a higher score. To improve, ensure that your instructions are precise and that you elaborate more naturally on your plans to ensure the reader feels fully informed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, 'Althought' is used incorrectly to start a sentence, and the transition between the friend picking the relative up and the alternative of taking a cab is disjointed. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'he will drop at my house'—it is not immediately obvious if 'he' refers to the friend or the taxi driver. Improving the flow between sentences using more varied and accurate linking words would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several spelling errors ('extremlly', 'Fournately', 'sich') and word choice issues ('I hope we will see until afternoon'). You attempt to use some descriptive language, but the inaccuracies in collocation and spelling occasionally impede the flow of the message. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise vocabulary and ensuring that your spelling is accurate. Expanding your range of functional phrases for making arrangements would also help you sound more natural and professional in your correspondence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You have frequent errors in basic grammar, such as missing verbs ('I hope you are doing'), incorrect verb forms ('I am deeply apologise'), and missing articles or prepositions ('pick you from station'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these errors are frequent and distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs. Proofreading for common slips like missing words would also help increase your score.
