Unfortunately, i had exam tomorrow, i will not be at home till evening, I really wanted to take you from train station. I am really sorry that I will not be there to catch you.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task. You explained the key arrangements, provided instructions for the journey from the station, and specified your arrival time along with a suggestion for the evening. However, the development of these points is somewhat basic. For instance, the instructions on how to get from the station are vague ('its just 15 mint far'). To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed information, such as suggesting a taxi or specific directions, and expand on the evening plans to make the tone more engaging and natural for a letter to a family member.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the greeting to the arrangements, then to the evening plans. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite limited and mechanical. You rely heavily on simple conjunctions like 'and' or 'but' to link ideas. Paragraphing is also inconsistent; the text would benefit from clearer separation between the logistical arrangements and the social plans. To improve, try using a wider variety of linking words such as 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in addition' to create a smoother flow between your sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it remains quite simple and repetitive. Phrases like 'have fun together' and 'made list of things' are functional but lack the precision and variety expected at higher levels. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'take you from train station' (should be 'pick you up') and '15 mint far' (should be '15 minutes away'). To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and idiomatic expressions suitable for an informal letter to a family member.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include inconsistent verb tenses ('i had exam tomorrow'), missing articles ('from train station'), and capitalization errors ('i', 'mom'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, proper capitalization, and the correct use of articles, which are essential for achieving a higher band score.
