IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A family member is coming to stay with you. He/she will be arriving by train in the morning, but you won’t be home until the evening.

• explain arrangements you have made for them to have keys and get into the house

• tell your relative how to get from the train station to your house

• say when you will be home and suggest what you could do together that evening

Dear Rohit,

I hope you are doing well. I am really looking forward to having you stay with me, and I am sorry that I will not be home when your train arrives.

To make things convenient, I have left a spare set of keys with my neighbour, Mrs patel, who lives in the apartment directly opposite mine. Just let her know that you are my cousin, and she will be happy to hand them over to you . I have also left the front door key and key to your room together on the key ring .

From the train station, the easiest way would be to take a taxi. It should take approximately 15 minutes depending on traffic. Moreover, you can catch bus 24 from outside the station.

I should be home at around 6.30 p.m. Once I am back, we can have dinner together and perhaps go for an outing around the neighbourhood afterwards. See you soon. I am waiting.
