Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: explaining the key arrangements, providing directions, and suggesting evening plans. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and the tone is inconsistent. For instance, while you mention the key is in the letterbox, the explanation of how to get from the station to your house is missing entirely; you only mention arranging a cab, which does not provide the requested directions. To reach a higher band, ensure you provide specific details for each prompt rather than general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks clear paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt to sequence information, the lack of logical transitions between sentences—such as moving from the key arrangements to the evening plans—results in a disjointed flow. You rely on simple, repetitive sentence structures, and the use of cohesive devices is minimal or inaccurate, such as the abrupt transition 'ok dear so you won't be home'. Using clear paragraph breaks for each bullet point would significantly improve the structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is quite limited and relies on informal, sometimes inaccurate phrasing. There are several spelling errors, such as 'onestly spiking' (honestly speaking), 'mitting' (meeting), 'convinance' (convenience), and 'fevarate' (favourite). These errors, combined with the use of 'u' instead of 'you', detract from the professional tone required for a formal or semi-formal letter. To improve, focus on using standard English spelling and expanding your range of vocabulary to include more precise terms for travel and social arrangements.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with verb tenses, such as 'i am go to office' instead of 'I am going to the office' and 'i am reach' instead of 'I will reach'. Additionally, sentence construction is often fragmented or run-on, and there is a lack of control over basic punctuation and capitalization. While you attempt to use some complex ideas, the underlying grammatical structure is not sufficiently accurate to support them, leading to a high frequency of errors.
