IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A family member is coming to stay with you. He/she will be arriving by train in the morning, but you won’t be home until the evening.

• explain arrangements you have made for them to have keys and get into the house

• tell your relative how to get from the train station to your house

• say when you will be home and suggest what you could do together that evening

Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Mom,

when you are visiting on 9 September to stay with us for Vraj's birthday I am suppose to report to office for a full shift. However, I will give the house keys to the neighbour opposite to our flat which is 303.

Also, as you told me that you are travelling with just a carry on bag, you can take the metro from the train station. Metro station's entry is on the left of train stations exit gate. Once you enter the metro station there is a ticket counter on the right, take a ticket to Sabarmati metro station and once you reach the destination take an auto or cab home.

After reaching home heat and have some to eat before going for rest. I will be home by 7:00 PM than we can go to that coffee place i told you about last time.
