Dear Manpreet,
I hope you are doing well. I got your letter and i am very happy to know that you are coming tomorrow evening to my town.
I have an urgent meeting tomorrow so i would be unable to come at station for picking up you. One of my friend Jass will be there for you and he will drop you at my accomodation.I will left main door keys under the black mat so it would be easy for you to entre in house. Some drinks and snacks will be there for you so enjoy and relax till i come to house at night.
I have a special Dinner plan for you at indian restaurent which you like the most since your childhood and also have booked a late night movie for us.
Hope you would enjoy a alot.
See you there.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, falling short at 145 words, which impacts the overall completeness of the task. While you have attempted all parts of the prompt, the details provided are only partially addressed and left under-developed. For instance, the instructions state that your relative is arriving by train in the morning, but you mention they are coming tomorrow evening, creating a contradiction in the details. Furthermore, the explanation of how to get from the train station is inadequate because you merely state that a friend named Jass will drop them off, without explaining actual travel directions or how they will meet at the station. Ideas remain limited and require further extension to fully satisfy the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation evident in your letter, such as the use of an appropriate greeting and sign-off, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate or repetitive, seen in the frequent and mechanical use of 'and' and 'for you' to link clauses and sentences. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas is somewhat disjointed, jumping abruptly between meeting arrangements, key locations, and evening plans. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the transition between your friend picking them up and the keys being left under the mat. To improve, you should employ a wider and more accurate range of cohesive links to guide the reader smoothly through the text.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
Your vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate for the task. You attempt some less common expressions, such as 'urgent meeting' and 'special Dinner plan', but there are noticeable errors in word choice and spelling that affect precision. For example, 'accomodation' contains a spelling error, 'entre' is incorrectly used instead of 'enter', and 'restaurent' is misspelled. Additionally, phrases like 'come at station' and 'come to house' demonstrate weak collocations and missing prepositions. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they highlight the need for greater control over word forms and spelling to reach a higher standard.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
Your writing displays a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences joined by basic conjunctions. Your attempts at complex structures are often faulty, such as in the sentence 'I will left main door keys under the black mat so it would be easy for you to entre in house', which contains an incorrect verb tense ('will left' instead of 'will leave') and missing articles ('the house'). There are frequent errors in verb forms, capitalization, and punctuation, such as lowercase 'i' used as a personal pronoun and incorrect tense usage with 'would be unable to come at station for picking up you'. These frequent errors require the reader to occasionally expend effort to understand your meaning.
