Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, as you successfully explain the key arrangements, provide directions from the station, and mention your evening plans with Puja. However, some bullet points remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the directions given ("i give send my home location on your whatshapp u follow that path") are quite basic and lack specific detail about landmarks or travel steps. Similarly, the evening suggestions ("do dinner together and some playing games and gossip together") are mentioned briefly without much elaboration. To move up to a higher band, you need to expand on all parts of the prompt with greater detail and fully developed ideas rather than relying on brief or generalized statements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some basic organisation in the letter, starting with a greeting and moving through your emergency, the keys, and your evening plans. However, there is no clear overall progression because the text is written as one long, continuous block without any paragraph breaks. Furthermore, cohesive devices are largely inadequate and repetitive. You rely heavily on informal conjunctions and run-on structures like "and" and "so" to link your clauses, which makes the flow mechanical and disjointed. To improve in this area, you should group your ideas into logical paragraphs—such as one for the emergency and keys, one for the directions, and one for the evening plans—and use a wider variety of appropriate cohesive links.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is limited and basic, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. You frequently rely on simple words and informal slang or chat-style spellings, such as "whatshapp", "peding", and "peack" (intended for pick). There are also persistent word-choice and spelling inaccuracies throughout the text, such as "tree plant" instead of a plant pot or tree, and "open home" instead of open the house. While your message can be understood despite these flaws, reaching a higher band requires a wider and more accurate range of vocabulary, correct word forms, and proper spelling of everyday terms without relying on informal abbreviations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The text demonstrates a limited range of structures, consisting mostly of simple sentences joined loosely together. When you attempt more complex relationships or longer sentences, they are often faulty, featuring frequent errors in tense consistency, punctuation, and sentence boundaries. For example, sentences run together without proper punctuation or capitalization, as seen in "i got a call from my office i have to come at office because its a very emergency". There are also issues with prepositions in grammatical patterns, such as "come at station" and "come at office" instead of 'come to the station' or 'go to the office'. Frequent errors of this nature cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, you need to focus on controlling basic sentence boundaries, punctuation, verb tenses, and standard preposition use.
