Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three required points: the guard has the keys, you explain that your relative can take a ride from the station, and you say you will be home at about 8 p.m. and suggest tea and a movie. These details make the message relevant and generally clear. However, some arrangements are less fully explained: for example, you do not say how your relative should identify the guard or what to do if the guard is unavailable, and the route relies on an address they “already know” rather than giving directions. The evening plan is also mentioned briefly rather than developed. Adding a little practical detail to these points would make the response more complete and clear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The message follows a broadly sensible order, moving from your reason for writing to the key arrangement, travel instructions, and evening plans. This helps the reader locate the main information. However, it is presented as one long block, and several ideas run together, particularly the directions and the plans for the evening. Linking phrases such as “first of all” and “then” provide some structure, but the sequence can feel mechanical, and punctuation does not consistently separate ideas. Use short paragraphs for the key arrangements, journey, and evening, and connect details with clearer transitions. This would give the message a more evident progression and make the practical instructions easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough everyday vocabulary to communicate the main arrangements, including “home keys,” “train station,” “main gate,” and “movie plan.” The tone is friendly and appropriate for a relative. However, the range is limited and some expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “handover the keys,” “spend the quality of time,” and “tea time party.” Spelling and word-form slips, including “earliy,” “leavng,” and “booj,” are noticeable and can slow the reader, even though the intended meaning is usually recoverable. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make the message clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response includes simple statements and some attempts to combine ideas, for example, explaining that you are leaving for the hospital because your duty hours start at 8 a.m. The main message is generally understandable. However, sentence structures are limited, and several sentences are joined with commas rather than being clearly separated. There are also errors in verb forms and sentence construction, as in “I will back home arund 8PM” and “then we will spendm thequality of time together, will have.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including the lowercase “i” and missing sentence breaks. Practise accurate complete sentences and use full stops to separate instructions and plans.
