Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address the three main points: your cousin will meet Shreya, has the house keys, and you explain your evening plans. The practical details—“at 7:00 am,” the café meeting point, and your return at 6:00 pm—make the arrangements useful. However, the route from the station to your house is not really explained; the reader is told that your cousin knows the location, but not how to travel there. The key handover is also slightly unclear because you say your cousin will let Shreya in, without explaining whether Shreya will keep the keys afterwards. The dinner and activities are relevant, though the evening plan could be described more clearly. Develop these details so every part of the task is fully covered.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter follows a sensible overall order: you introduce the visit, explain the arrival arrangements, and then describe your evening together. This makes the main information easy to locate, and phrases such as “In this case” and “After dinner” help connect events. The response also has a clear friendly opening and closing. To make the progression more polished, separate the arrival arrangements and evening plans into distinct paragraphs, and use transitions less mechanically. Some references are unclear: “she” refers to your cousin, but the sequence around the keys and the phone number could be organised more precisely. The list of activities at the end would also flow better as a complete, clearly punctuated sentence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary suited to an informal letter, including “pick you up,” “railway station,” “keys,” and “special dinner,” so the reader can understand the practical arrangements and your warm tone. There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “memorious,” although this is not the appropriate word for the intended meaning. Several spelling and word-choice errors—“torronto,” “alreday,” “eagrly,” and “gossips”—are noticeable, and phrases such as “arrival timing” and “good driver” are not natural in this context. The range is adequate for the basic message but remains limited and sometimes imprecise. Check spelling and learn common collocations for travel arrangements and social plans.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine ideas using clauses and time expressions, for example, “I will come at 6:00 pm in the evening,” and the intended meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “you will come … and living with me,” “she will standing near,” and “After dinner will sitting together”; these need forms such as “will be staying,” “she will be standing,” and “we will sit.” The opening also contains a run-on sequence, while “I have plan for spenting” shows problems with both the article and verb pattern. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences with controlled clauses and punctuation.
