Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover the main points: you explain where the key is, arrange for Jatin to collect your relative, give an approximate time for your return, and suggest dinner and a Halloween show. These details make the letter relevant and practical. However, some parts are not fully clear or developed. “I hide the keys under the garbage bin at front door” gives a location, but you could make the access arrangement safer and more precise. The route is delegated to your friend rather than explained, so the reader receives little guidance if the pickup plan changes. The evening plan is also somewhat unclear about whether dinner comes before or after the show. Clarifying these details would make the response more complete and useful.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The information follows a generally sensible order: you begin with the visit and key arrangements, move to arrival and transport, and finish with your evening plans and a warm closing. This gives the reader an overall coherent account. Some links between ideas are less smooth, however. The breakfast detail appears abruptly after the key information, and “After that” followed by “before it” makes the order of dinner and the show difficult to follow. The response is presented as one block, so separating it into short paragraphs for arrival arrangements, transport, and evening plans would improve readability. Use linking phrases to show the sequence of events clearly rather than relying on several ideas joined together.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the practical arrangements and personal tone, including “pick you up,” “tickets,” “quality of time,” and “safe journey.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “professional work” and “horror shows.” However, several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make the writing sound less natural: “coming home” is unclear for a visitor, “go outside for my professional work” is awkward, and “very exciting” does not express your intended feeling. “Arragements” is also misspelled. Aim for familiar, precise phrases that fit a friendly letter, and check spelling and word forms. More natural choices would make your meaning easier to understand without needing a much wider vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, for example, “As you arrive at station please give a call to my friend Jatin,” and you use future forms to describe your plans. However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur in sentence boundaries, articles, verb forms, and agreement. The opening runs several clauses together: “I am glad that you are coming home unfortunately i need to go outside…”; it needs clearer punctuation and sentence structure. Other examples include “at station,” “i have grab tickets,” and “shows that is going to happen,” where articles, verb forms, or agreement need correction. Use a mix of shorter accurate sentences and carefully checked complex sentences, and capitalize “I” and proper names consistently.
