Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address the general situation and mention the keys, travel, and evening plans, so the reader can identify the purpose of the message. However, the key arrangement is unclear: “give the home keys to our neighbours” does not explain which neighbour, where to find them, or how to collect them. The travel instruction is also incomplete because you give a train number without explaining how to get from the station to your house. You do say you will be unavailable because of work, but do not specify when you will arrive home. The evening activities are relevant but only listed. The response is 113 words, below the required 150, and the missing practical details mean the task is addressed only partially. Add clear directions and specific arrangements.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The message follows a broadly sensible order: it begins with your relative’s arrival, moves to travel information, and ends with plans for the evening. This helps the reader recognise the main topics. However, the ideas are compressed into one main block, and the links between them are sometimes abrupt. For example, “At the end” does not naturally introduce evening plans, while “Also talk about future plans” is disconnected from the preceding list. The repeated use of “also” and “so” provides only basic linking, and the closing is not clearly separated. Use short paragraphs for arrival and keys, directions, and evening plans, with transitions such as “Once you reach the station” and “When I get home.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use basic vocabulary that communicates the general message, including “neighbours,” “train service,” “dinner,” and “future plans.” There are also some attempts to make the message warm and personal, such as “I am so excited to meet you.” However, the range is limited, and several spelling errors or imprecise phrases make the writing less clear, including “unforuntaley,” “disspointed,” and “get realxed.” Phrases such as “take the home keys” and “train number” do not provide the precise language needed for practical arrangements. Choose familiar but accurate expressions, such as “collect the spare key” and “take the bus from the station,” and check spelling before sending the letter.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Most of the message uses simple sentence patterns, and the reader can generally understand the intended meaning. There are attempts to connect clauses, for example, “I am not at home because of work,” but control is inconsistent. In “it take only one hour,” the verb does not agree with its subject; “you can take it and open the door of house” is missing an article and has an unclear pronoun reference. Capitalisation and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “work So” and “see you soon .” These errors sometimes make the instructions harder to follow. Practise accurate present-tense forms, articles, and sentence boundaries, then combine simple sentences with a few controlled clauses to show more range.
