Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three requested points: you explain that your brother can collect a key from a neighbour, give directions from the station, and suggest activities for the evening. The practical details, such as taking a taxi and looking for the blue tower, make the letter relevant. However, some parts are less fully explained than others. For example, “my neighborhood house” does not clearly identify which neighbour or how your brother should contact them, and the route could be more precise. The evening plans are listed rather than developed, and you do not clearly state what time you expect to be home. Include these details so the arrangements are easier to follow and the plans feel more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: the opening explains your absence, the next paragraph covers the key and route, and the final paragraph turns to evening activities. Sequencing words such as “Firstly” and “After that” help show the order of events. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. “So, that’s why” repeats the same cause-and-effect idea, while “I also guided my brother with phone” does not clearly connect the directions to the arrangements already described. The final paragraph combines several activities in one list without indicating which you prefer or how the evening might unfold. Use simpler transitions and clearer references to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough everyday vocabulary to communicate the main arrangements, including “keys,” “train station,” “taxi,” and “video games.” There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “exciting fun” and “explore some places.” However, several word choices and collocations are unnatural or imprecise, which limits clarity and flexibility. For instance, “coming to home” and “my neighborhood house” do not express the intended meanings naturally, and “some placees” contains a spelling error. “Go outside for dinner” is also less precise than a natural phrase for eating out. Build a bank of common collocations for travel, accommodation, and social plans, and check spelling before finishing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a reason clause beginning “because of my exam” and a sequence of directions. The main message is generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward. Examples include “for spend some days,” “how to reached my home,” and “When I back to my home”; these need forms such as “to spend,” “how to reach,” and “When I get back home.” There are also run-on sentences and missing spaces after commas. Practise accurate basic patterns first, then combine them into longer sentences using conjunctions and clear punctuation.
