Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you explain that the keys are in a green box, give a taxi route from the station with an approximate journey time, and say you will be home later and have planned dinner and a cake. These details make the letter relevant and generally complete. However, some parts are less fully explained than others. “Near door” does not clearly identify where the box is or how your relative should access it, and “after 7 hours of you enter” leaves the arrival time unclear. The evening plan is promising, but you could make it more personal by suggesting a specific activity after dinner. Clearer, more precise arrangements would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The information follows a sensible order: you begin with the visit, explain your absence and the key arrangement, give directions, and finish with your return and evening plans. This gives the letter an overall coherent structure. Some links between ideas, however, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “yeah so” is informal and does not smoothly introduce the directions, while “not only but also” is not used in a complete or balanced construction. The response is also presented as one continuous block, so the different topics are harder to distinguish. Use short paragraphs for the arrangements, directions, and evening plans, and connect them with straightforward transitions such as “To get to my apartment” and “When I get home.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main arrangements, including “railway station,” “taxi,” “crowded,” “restaurant,” and “welcome cake.” There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “unexpected surprising moment,” although this phrase is repetitive and not natural in this context. Several word choices and collocations reduce precision: “bus transit” is unclear, “booked restaurant dinning” is awkward, and “my town” is repeated where a more specific description would help. Spelling and word-form errors such as “dinning” and “faitfully” are noticeable. Aim for natural, precise phrases—for example, “the bus is another option, but it is usually crowded”—and check spelling before finishing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can usually understand the main message. However, some sentence structures and verb forms are inaccurate, particularly in the longer sentences. For example, “you gonna come” and “when you gonna reach” need an auxiliary verb, while “after 7 hours of you enter” does not form a clear time clause. The opening also runs several ideas together without appropriate sentence boundaries, and punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. Practise using accurate future forms such as “you are going to arrive” and time clauses such as “after you arrive.” Breaking long sentences into shorter, correctly punctuated ones will improve control while still allowing you to show a range of structures.
