Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The letter is relevant and gives useful information about the spare key, food, and a taxi, but it only minimally fulfils the task overall. The key arrangement is understandable, although the neighbour’s name or a clearer way to contact her would make it more practical. The route instruction is not actually provided: arranging a taxi and promising the driver’s details does not tell Sarah how to get from the station to your house. Most importantly, you do not say what time you expect to be home or suggest an activity for the evening. These omissions leave two required points substantially unanswered. Address each bullet directly, with specific details, to make the letter complete and useful.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The message has a recognisable letter format and a basic sequence: greeting and context, arrangements, then a closing. Linking expressions such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover” help distinguish the arrangements, and the reader can follow the main points. However, the progression is incomplete because the letter moves from the taxi arrangement straight to a general offer to call, without covering the evening plans. Some sentences also run together, particularly “she is good freind of mine. You can take key,” which makes the presentation less clear. Use paragraph breaks for the key and travel details, and finish with a separate paragraph giving your arrival time and a suggested activity.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a sufficient range of everyday language for a personal letter, including “spare key,” “next-door neighbour,” “refrigerator,” and “arrange a taxi.” These choices make the practical arrangements understandable. However, some spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, such as “freind,” “tp,” and “confirmation,” while “share a taxi drivers information” is not a natural expression. “After you long journey” also needs a more suitable phrase. Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than adding more elaborate vocabulary: for example, say that you will “send you the driver’s details once they are confirmed.” Proofreading spelling and possessives would make the message more polished.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The letter includes simple statements and some longer clauses, such as “I will prepare some food and put it in the refrigerator so that you can have something to eat.” The intended meaning is generally clear, but errors occur in basic sentence patterns and punctuation. “I hope you doing well” needs an auxiliary (“I hope you are doing well”), and “I will not be at home until the evening on the day you arrive” is more naturally expressed with a clearer time clause. In “as soon as I will confirmation,” the future form and clause structure are incorrect; use “as soon as I have confirmation.” Missing spaces after full stops and commas also affect readability. Check verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries carefully.
