Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three requested points: Karan will meet Ram at the station, you explain the intercom and entry code, and you give an approximate time for your return and suggest dinner and a film. These details make the letter useful and relevant. However, some arrangements are not fully clear: “I will share his number” does not provide the number, and the route from the station is mostly replaced by a lift from your friend, with only the building and apartment details given. The evening plan is also confusing because you say you will be home at 5, then mention a late-night film and arriving home at about 1:30 a.m. Clarifying these points and developing the directions would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The information follows a generally sensible order: you explain why you will be absent, describe the arrival and entry arrangements, and then discuss the evening. This overall progression helps the reader follow the main plan. However, most of the letter is presented as one long paragraph, so the separate stages of the visit are not visually clear. Some links between ideas are also abrupt, as in “that time my friend Karan will pick up you” followed by the entry instructions. The sequence around your return and the late-night film is difficult to follow. Use separate paragraphs for arrival, access, and evening plans, and add clear transitions such as “Once you reach the building” and “After dinner” to make the connections more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough practical vocabulary to communicate the arrangements, including “train station,” “intercom,” “main door,” “code,” and “dinner.” These words suit the informal purpose of the letter, and the reader can generally understand what you intend. However, several spelling errors and unnatural word combinations reduce accuracy, for example “arrangments,” “reginal manager,” “pick up you,” and “outside the train station.” Some expressions are also vague, such as “food and stuff” and “go together outside.” Choose more precise, natural phrases—for example, “some food and essentials” and “go out for dinner”—and check spelling carefully. A broader range of accurate everyday expressions would make the letter sound more fluent and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, and the basic meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation occur across the letter. Examples include “I hope you doing well,” “your train will be reach,” and “I will be reach at home”; these should use forms such as “I hope you are doing well,” “your train will arrive,” and “I will be home.” The sentence beginning “I just want to let you know” is also separated from the information it introduces, while several long sentences need clearer punctuation. Practise accurate present and future forms, and divide longer instructions into complete sentences. More consistent control of these patterns would improve clarity.
