Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You identify a possible reason—people do not care enough about others or the environment—and express the view that recycling is a shared responsibility. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not clearly explain why people fail to recycle, and the proposed changes are vague. For example, “government is helping” does not say what action the government should take, while “do our garbage on time” is unclear as a solution. The response also contains 97 words, below the required 250; nine words copied from the prompt were not counted. To develop your answer, explain specific barriers, such as inconvenient collection or lack of information, then give practical measures and relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic line of thought: you mention a reason, state that recycling is a responsibility, and describe benefits for the environment and children. Linking expressions such as “In addition” and “Moreover” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the response is one long paragraph, and the ideas do not progress clearly from causes to solutions. Some links are mechanical, and the relationship between points is sometimes difficult to follow—for instance, “if all of us do our garbage on time” does not clearly connect to the claim that the city will improve. Use separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, and organise each around one main point with a clear explanation or example.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycle,” “rubbish,” “garbage,” “responsibility,” and “beneficial,” so the general subject is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “do our garbage,” “on a betterment,” and “make clean our country.” Spelling errors in “goverment,” “ourseleves,” and “childeren” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural phrases such as “sort household waste,” “improve the cleanliness of our cities,” and “protect the environment.” Building a small set of recycling-related collocations and checking spelling would make your ideas easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences using “because,” “if,” and “and,” and you also use simple statements such as “it is beneficial for us.” However, control is uneven, and errors in basic sentence structure and agreement sometimes make the meaning unclear. For example, “people … they doesn't care” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “our children learn from us and they should not get that idea” combines ideas without a clear grammatical relationship. The opening sentence also joins several claims without clear punctuation. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses such as “because” and “so that”; check agreement and sentence boundaries when proofreading.
