Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern world pollution is a big concern and it is getting worse day by day. There is an argument that many countries are not recycling their garbage as they could. There are certain factors like lack of awareness and facilities. This essay will discuss what are the causes and how it can be overcome to make better environment.
To begin with, several countries do not focus on environmental crises which are caused by those garbage. Many places do not have better recycling facilities so they always lack in maintaining cleanliness. For intance, certain cities dump their waste into the seas because of minimal machinery that recycles the waste. Moreover, there is big concern regading public awareness. People always throw their waste on the parks and public places after eating something eventhough dustinbins are provided. For example, some family members avoid throwing plastic bottles into the waste bin due to laziness and lack of awarness.
Furthermore, there are various solutions to make changes into the society for cleanliness. Firstly, governement should spend some budget into waste managment department. Which will help to provide more advance machinery which recycles the rubbish and seperates usefull things a side. To Illustrate, if the country decides to stay clean and environment friendly they should spend some money to protect nature by providing more and more waste departments in all cities. Secondly, making public aware about how the recycling process works and provide advertisements and banner aroud big malls and public areas. To exemplify, run campaigns for throwing waste in allotted bins.
To conclude, many countries lac public awarness and proper waste management facilities. However, this can be overcome by making people aware by running campaigns regarding recycling process and to dump their daily garbage in provided bins.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify limited public awareness and inadequate recycling facilities as causes, then suggest government investment and public campaigns. These ideas are relevant, and examples such as waste being dumped into the sea and people not sorting plastic bottles help illustrate them. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that countries “do not focus on environmental crises” could be linked more clearly to why recycling is neglected, and the proposed campaigns are not developed beyond telling people to use allotted bins. Explain how each measure would change behaviour or improve recycling, and make the relationship between causes and solutions more explicit. This would make the response more consistently developed across both parts of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” “Firstly,” and “Secondly” make the progression easy to follow, and the examples generally appear beside the points they support. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the flexibility expected at the next level. However, linking is sometimes mechanical, and a few connections are unclear. For example, “Which will help to provide…” is an incomplete sentence and does not connect smoothly to the preceding proposal. The conclusion also repeats the main points rather than drawing them together. Use a wider range of natural links and ensure each sentence clearly refers to the previous idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycling facilities,” “public awareness,” “waste management,” and “campaigns,” so the reader can understand the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “machinery” and “allotted bins.” However, the range and control are uneven: several phrases are imprecise or unnatural, including “make better environment,” “lack in maintaining cleanliness,” and “spend some budget into.” Spelling errors such as “intance,” “regading,” “awarness,” and “seperates” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise choices would help express the causes and proposed actions clearly without relying on repeated general terms such as “waste” and “clean.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “if,” and most of the message remains understandable. Some sentences are controlled, such as “People always throw their waste on the parks and public places after eating something.” However, there are some errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns. “This essay will discuss what are the causes” uses incorrect word order in an indirect question, while “Which will help to provide…” is a sentence fragment. Other examples include “they should spend some money” after the conditional clause, where the subject reference is unclear, and “making public aware,” which lacks a necessary determiner or object structure. Review indirect questions, complete sentence formation, and article use, then proofread punctuation and clause connections.
