Student answer (Band 5.0)

in this modern era, everyone is busy with there life and works.they dont have time for personal life and for house chors. reuse the item is the biggest challenge for everyone.

in these days everyone want easy work or accessble. like if anybody have a electrical item if its stop to working they dont want to try to fix it. they directly giving the periority to buy new one.they dont think about the old item and directly thru in the garbage. even the waste of homes also not making sepprate they mixed up everything. they dont like to segrigate.

rubbish is the big problem in some coutries the collecting garbage in open area making a big dump.these are the cause of seroius virus. some big countries they are earning money from small coutries to collect the garbage.

in that countries they have huges machines they are recycling the garbage to some use able items and some are making the product for faming.

but in otherr hand if person by person take care of rubbish they can save the evirment to get polluted. because of garbage dumps the smell will be poluted the air and its effect the human body.

the plastic is big change for recycling because if it throw in open area or sea it will take long time to dismental and it will effect on sea creature life cycle.it will polute the sea water also. in some region we saw some plastic items are stuck with the big fish and they are survive with that.

in my opinion, government have to take strict action agaist the peoples how are miss using the garbage and rubbish to recycling.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by identifying reasons such as busy lifestyles, convenience, and reluctance to repair or sort waste, then suggesting government action. The discussion of plastic pollution and recycling also provides relevant context. However, the response only partially develops the task: the proposed solution is mainly the general statement that the government should take strict action, without explaining what measures would work or how they would change behaviour. Some points, such as countries earning money by collecting rubbish from others, are introduced but not clearly connected to the question. State your position more clearly and develop a few relevant causes and practical solutions with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the opening introduces the issue, later paragraphs discuss waste and its effects, and the final sentence offers a recommendation. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because causes, consequences, and possible solutions are mixed together. For example, the discussion moves from household sorting to international waste collection, then to recycling machinery and sea pollution without clear links. Connect each paragraph to one main purpose, such as reasons for low recycling, consequences, and solutions. Use linking expressions to show relationships between ideas, and make references such as “in that countries” clearer. This would give the response a more consistent line of development.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “recycling,” “garbage,” “segregate,” “polluted,” and “sea creature,” so the reader can recognise the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make meaning less clear, such as “reuse the item,” “periority,” “dismental,” and “faming.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “the smell will be polluted the air” and “making a big dump.” Aim to learn accurate collocations for waste management and environmental effects, and check spelling carefully. Repeating “garbage” and “rubbish” can also be reduced by using precise alternatives such as “household waste,” “landfill,” or “recyclable materials.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts to express reasons and consequences using longer sentences, for example, “if it throw in open area or sea it will take long time to dismental.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently. Examples include “everyone want,” “if anybody have,” and “they dont have time,” while several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation. These errors sometimes make the relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “if,” and “although.” Check that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
