Student answer (Band 6.0)

In many nations, individuals does not using things again that they use once such as plastic bottles, bags, clothes and so on. These are a many reason behind this issue which I will explain in following paragraphs with solutions.

The first and foremost reason is, in many countries people do not aware of recycle. They do not know the result of doing or not recycle. For example, In India, there are many cities where people are not educated, they do not have knowledge about recycling. Due to that even they do not know the benefits behind doing recycling. So, I would say that this is the one reason behind people do not recycle as much as they could. Further, many people do not like to use the things again such as water bottle. When they finish the water they just throw them away because they like to use the new things every time.

On the other hand, there are some solutions that with people will be do recycle. People should be educated about the enviornment. They should get aware of these things such as they should enviornment where is wrong and right for enviornment. If they for them the information will get sure they will start doing recycle. Another solution is government should make people aware of this issue. For instance they make some advertisement of with this people will get the knowledge.

In summary if every person if they know the benefits of things they will be start doing such as recycle. That they will make the big difference in the way like they will reduce the soil pollution.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided (lack of education and preference for new items) are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The solutions suggested (education and government advertisements) are relevant but remain quite general. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or elaborate on the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments. For instance, explaining the economic or logistical barriers to recycling would strengthen the response significantly. The position is clear, but the overall development is basic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Further' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the internal flow within paragraphs is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'If they for them the information will get sure', which makes the logical progression difficult to follow. Improving the use of transition words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'things', 'do', and 'make'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'do not aware of recycle' instead of 'are not aware of recycling' and 'doing recycle' instead of 'recycling'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the frequent errors in word form (e.g., 'enviornment' misspelled) restrict the score. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to the environment and sustainability, and practice using verbs and nouns in their correct forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'individuals does not using', 'people do not aware') and sentence construction. The attempt at complex sentences often results in errors, such as 'there are some solutions that with people will be do recycle'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While you use some simple structures correctly, the lack of control over more complex grammar and the high frequency of errors in basic structures prevent a higher score. Focus on mastering basic sentence patterns before attempting more complex ones.
