Student answer (Band 6.5)
In many nations, individuals not recycling the waste material. There are few factors that why this happen. One of them is not knowing importance of recycle. And no strict action taken against them. There are solutions of this which I will discuss in this essay.
Firstly, there are few reasons due to which this happens, the main and vital factor is lack of awareness among the society. People are not aware of things which should be recycle. How bad the impact of such things on our environment they do not know. There are no such vital responsibility towards nature and surroundings. The other factor is no actionable rules against anyone who not recycle. Government have some certain rules regarding this things but not strict enough that impact on citizen. For instance many countries where there is no rules there pollution and recycle has increased drastically.
However, there are some certain steps should take against this. Starting with spreading the awareness among the country. People should know what to recycle and what not to. This can happen by adding an external lesson to be taught in school. Also by community campaign about waste management. Also that government should implement a strict fine or penalty if anyone not follow rule. Because of fear from fine and penalty many of them get used to with rule by time. For example, it has been seen that people follow more if the strictness is more.
In conclusion, many individual refuse to recycling only because of awareness and the following action on any one. There are few solutions to this problem which mainly is to spread the knowledge among everyone and implement strict regulations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'lack of awareness' and 'lack of strict rules', these points are not fully extended with concrete, detailed examples. The introduction is quite brief and lacks a clear, sophisticated thesis statement. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more in-depth explanation of the 'why' and 'how', rather than listing points. The conclusion is also quite repetitive of the introduction. Aim to synthesize your arguments more effectively to demonstrate a deeper engagement with the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'However', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there is a lack of more sophisticated linking words or referencing. For example, the transition between the lack of awareness and the lack of rules could be smoother. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack proper logical connectors, which makes the progression feel slightly disjointed. Improving the variety of your cohesive devices will help the essay read more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision. You frequently use basic terms like 'things', 'rules', and 'bad'. There are also some errors in word form and collocation, such as 'not recycling the waste material' (should be 'do not recycle') and 'no actionable rules' (should be 'no enforceable regulations'). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental issues, such as 'sustainability', 'waste management infrastructure', 'environmental degradation', or 'legislative measures'. Expanding your range will allow you to express your ideas with greater nuance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include missing auxiliary verbs (e.g., 'individuals not recycling'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'if anyone not follow rule'), and missing articles. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement, proper tense usage, and ensuring that every sentence has a clear main verb to improve your accuracy.
