Student answer (Band 6.0)

Childrens are the foundation of society and there upbring plays a crucial role in shaping there future. In such scenario some people opine that children should follow tight regulations while others consider that there should be liberalization when dealing with younger ones. This essay will discuss both the views before presenting my own stand point in the ensuing paragraphs.

On one hand, there are plethora of benefits of childrens who obey the rules. Firstly, children are like sponges and absorb whatever is taught to them. Consequently, if they are bound to laws at young age it facilitates in building traits like discipline, patience, perseverance which transforms them into well-rounded citizen when grown up. Additionaly, young population are immature and cannot differentiate between henious and good deeds.Hence, there should be disciplinary actions for breaking the norms. To illustrate, in western countries schools teach the waste management to students and have regulation if they do not follow that inculcates habit when they grow up.

On other hand, there are many cons of forcing the young generation for obeying rules. First and foremost, excessive challenging atmosphere affects the brain development in children and causes hindrence in there growth. For instance, as per the Times servey there has been increase in cases of child mental disorders in schools which force the students to follow the rules strictly. Moreover, this affects the physical and psychological development of child which reduces its creativity, problem solving skills. Ergo, children should be given there free space to excel in their life.

To conclude, Although obeying the rules and regulation is pivotal, there should be freedom to develop the habit and understand the fundamental between right anf wrong tasks.I firmply believe that there should be balanced approach with ruless to be strictly followed where necessary while liberty in few scenarios as per the priority.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks for reasons why people do not recycle and suggestions to change this behavior. However, the essay discusses whether children should be raised with strict rules or liberalization. Because the response fails to address the prompt entirely, it cannot be assessed for task achievement in relation to the specific question asked. While the essay structure is logical for an argumentative task, the content is irrelevant to the topic of recycling. To improve, you must carefully read the prompt and ensure your arguments directly answer the specific questions posed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is well-structured with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'On one hand', 'Consequently', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude' are used effectively to link ideas. Paragraphing is logical, and there is a clear progression of ideas within the paragraphs. Despite the essay being off-topic, the internal organization and the use of linking words demonstrate a level of coherence that is higher than the task achievement score. The flow of the argument is easy to follow, even though the subject matter is incorrect.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a reasonable range of vocabulary, including terms like 'perseverance', 'well-rounded', 'inculcates', and 'pivotal'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'Childrens' (Children), 'there' (their), 'Additionaly' (Additionally), 'henious' (heinous), 'hindrence' (hindrance), and 'servey' (survey). These errors are frequent and sometimes distracting. While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, the persistent spelling mistakes and occasional misuse of words (e.g., 'fundamental between right anf wrong tasks') limit the score. Focusing on proofreading and mastering basic spelling will help improve your lexical score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Childrens are', 'there upbring plays'), confusion between 'there' and 'their', and missing articles. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors impacts the overall accuracy. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on basic grammar rules, particularly possessive pronouns and subject-verb agreement, and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed without errors.
