Student answer (Band 5.5)
Recycling has been always a pressing issue in some countries. It is considered that more and more rubbish can be recycled but it is neglected by public. I believe this phenomenon is primarily driven by lack of awareness and regulations. But it can mitigated through targeted solutions at individual and systematic levels which will be elaborated in the subsequent paragraphs.
The major reason for less recycling is lack of awareness among people. Some societies have less exposer to such knowledgeable book or shows related to recycling products or wastage. Therefore, they have stay unaware what and how to recycle. For example, In most middle east countries where people exposed to internet or other such technology, more such problem is witnessed. Moreover, government also plays an significant role in this happening. There are no strict rules and regulations are placed.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely limits the development of ideas. While the introduction identifies the causes (lack of awareness and regulations) and mentions that solutions will be provided, the essay ends abruptly after only partially addressing the first part of the prompt. The second part of the question regarding solutions is not addressed at all. Because the response is incomplete and fails to meet the length requirement, the development of ideas is insufficient to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, with an introduction and a body paragraph. However, the progression is interrupted by the premature ending. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Therefore' and 'Moreover', but the overall structure is incomplete. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a full essay structure makes it difficult to assess the flow of ideas effectively. The text is coherent in its limited scope, but it lacks the necessary development to demonstrate a full range of cohesive devices.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'exposer' instead of 'exposure' and 'knowledgeable book' instead of 'informative materials'. The phrasing 'more such problem is witnessed' is also unnatural. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'recycling' and 'wastage', the limited length restricts the ability to demonstrate a wider or more sophisticated lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'Recycling has been always' (word order), 'neglected by public' (missing article), and 'they have stay unaware' (incorrect verb form). Additionally, 'In most middle east countries where people exposed to internet' is a sentence fragment missing a main verb. These errors are noticeable and occasionally impede the clarity of the message, though the general meaning remains understandable.
