Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many countries do not recycle their garbage as much as they could. This is happening because of a lack of awareness, and it can be fixed by taking strict action. This essay will answer the questions and also propose practical solutions.
The primary reason is that people are unaware. This is because of a lack of education. For example, mostly in an illiterate community, rubbish is thrown anywhere. This happens because people there are never taught about how to recycle stuff. To overcome this, the government should provide sessions on cleanliness and recycling. Also, at school, they should include awareness so the younger generation can learn at that age like western countries.
Another main point to consider is that rules and regulations should be launched. If they do not follow them, then they should be fined. Minimal charges will also affect the popullation and that will For instance,
In conclusion, I believe that main reason why many countries do not do appropriate recycling is because of insufficient knowelge. This can be changed if proper action is taken on it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 179 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay addresses both parts of the prompt—reasons for low recycling and potential solutions—the arguments are underdeveloped. For instance, the second body paragraph is incomplete, ending abruptly with 'For instance,', which leaves the reader without a full explanation or example. To achieve a higher band, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure that every paragraph reaches a logical conclusion. The current brevity prevents a full exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow is hindered by the incomplete nature of the second body paragraph. While you use some cohesive devices like 'The primary reason' and 'Another main point', the progression of ideas is interrupted by the unfinished sentence. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a substantial conclusion and the abrupt ending of the second paragraph make the overall structure feel disjointed. To improve, ensure that each paragraph is fully developed and that you use a wider variety of linking words to connect your sentences more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic. You use words like 'garbage', 'rubbish', and 'stuff', which are functional but lack the academic tone required for IELTS. There are also spelling errors such as 'popullation' and 'knowelge'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental issues, such as 'sustainability', 'waste management', or 'public awareness campaigns'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you express your ideas with more sophistication and precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are noticeable errors in punctuation and sentence construction, such as the incomplete sentence at the end of the second paragraph. While your meaning is generally clear, the grammatical control is inconsistent. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of complex structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, and ensure that your punctuation is accurate. Proofreading for minor errors like 'mostly in an illiterate community' would also help improve the overall accuracy of your writing.
