Student answer (Band 7.0)
The more and more people across the globe are not interested to recyle their waste, even they could do. This practice has been linked with several reasons. This habit can be changed if the governments take up consise and conscious decisions.
One major reason is that less awareness about how to segregate the waste. This is because people in many countries throw their garbage in one bin, which means that they are not separting different kinds of garbage in different bins. Although they have facilities of different colour coded bins, they are not aware about the consequences it can put on evnironment. As a result, they ignore to recycle their rebbish in a proper way and causing problems to the environment.
Another reason is the improper infrastructure. In many undeveloped or remote areas, people don't have access of the facilities to recycle the garbage. It has been seen in many common areas where individuals throw their garbage in landfills because nobody came in their streets to collect recycled product. As a consequence, they end up with landfills and creating pollution for aquatic spices because the plastic are thrown into rivers and lakes, which is dangerous for marine life.
However, this problem can be mitigate with the help of government. They can organise public events for citizens to educate them how to recycle rubbish and also oragnise awareness campaign. By having access of education, citizens can help to save the environment. In addition, the authorities can allocate money to improve infrastructure and strict regulation for people who littering the earth. With these solutions, individuals will definitely try to recycle the products.
To sum up, while this trend has myriads of reasons, with the help of government it can be resolved because legal authorities can provide education and put certains amount of fine, it will lead to save the environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed both parts of the prompt: the reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. Your ideas are relevant and logically structured. For example, you identify lack of awareness and poor infrastructure as key reasons, and suggest education and government regulation as solutions. To reach a higher band, ensure your ideas are more fully developed. For instance, when discussing infrastructure, you could provide a more specific example of how a government policy successfully improved waste collection in a particular region. While your position is clear, adding a more nuanced introduction or a stronger concluding summary would enhance the overall task response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. You use cohesive devices such as 'One major reason', 'Another reason', 'However', and 'To sum up' to guide the reader through your argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are occasional issues with referencing, such as in the sentence 'they end up with landfills', where the pronoun 'they' does not clearly refer back to the intended subject. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer to their antecedents will help improve the flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'segregate', 'infrastructure', 'landfills', and 'regulations'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'recyle', 'consise', 'evnironment', 'rebbish', and 'oragnise', which occasionally distract the reader. Additionally, there are some word choice inaccuracies, such as 'aquatic spices' (likely meaning 'species') and 'mitigate with the help of government' (should be 'mitigated by'). To improve, focus on proofreading for spelling and ensuring that your word choices are precise and contextually appropriate. Expanding your range of collocations would also help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this level. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'less awareness about how to segregate' (should be 'a lack of awareness'), 'nobody came in their streets' (should be 'nobody comes'), and 'the plastic are thrown' (should be 'plastic is thrown'). While these errors are frequent, they rarely impede the overall meaning of your essay. To achieve a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will also demonstrate better control over your grammatical range.
