Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 151 words. Consequently, the development of ideas is severely limited. While you identify reasons (lack of awareness, logistical issues) and solutions (campaigns, more bins), these points are underdeveloped and lack sufficient explanation or concrete examples. The essay ends abruptly, failing to provide a conclusion or a fully rounded argument. To improve, you must expand on your points with detailed explanations and relevant examples to ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed thoroughly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore' and 'For example', but the connection between sentences is sometimes weak, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from 'immigrants' to 'garbage collectors' is abrupt and lacks logical flow. The final sentence is incomplete, which disrupts the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'waste materials', 'garbage', and 'awareness campaigns', but there is repetition and some awkward phrasing, such as 'migrating the new notions'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic language. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider variety of vocabulary related to environmental issues.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains several grammatical errors that affect clarity. For instance, 'there are many visible environment effects on planet' is missing articles ('the environment', 'the planet'). There are also subject-verb agreement issues and punctuation errors, such as the run-on sentence '...new commers are migrating the new notions. Due to this colonies recycling bins are always full...'. While simple sentence structures are generally clear, the lack of complex structures and the presence of frequent errors limit the score.
