Student answer (Band 5.5)

Now adays, the concept of recycling is reducing in many countries. Therefore, citizens do not prefer to recycle the rubbish. There are several reasons for this , particularly the increasing health problems due to recycling. While not recycling has a great impact on waste management,. therefore, we should educate people about benefits of recycling in growth of economy and management of waste products in the society.

Firstly, as far as i am concerned, the crucial reason of not recycling in some areas is development of health issues , some people believe that recycling is unhygenic. For instance, people prefer drinking water from glass bottels instead of plastic because they think that it can cause damage to their health as they are not brand new but recycled. Moreover, they

Secondly, people are not aware of benefits of recycling. Therefore, we should do some awareness progrrames in the cities that highlights the importance of recycling in the waste management and growth of economy However, recycling has a great contribution in the growth of economy for different areas enabling the bussiness to increase that eventually increase employment also. Educate individuals about how recycling helps managing the waste products pollution by bringing back the thing into use.

In conclusion, the recycling has decrease significantly in this contemporary world. In my opinion, the important cause is health issues for instance hygeine problems while on the other hand we can do awareness sessions and compaigns to educate the people about the importance of recycling in waste management and how the recycling boosts our economy. This will motivate people to recycle their rubbish.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for low recycling rates and suggesting solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited. The argument regarding health concerns is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth, while the solutions provided are general rather than specific. The essay would benefit from more detailed examples or a clearer explanation of how the proposed awareness programs would function in practice. The position is clear, but the overall development is quite basic, preventing it from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on expanding each point with concrete evidence or logical consequences.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the use of 'Therefore' and 'However' is sometimes forced or grammatically incorrect, such as in the phrase 'While not recycling has a great impact on waste management,. therefore, we should...'. There are also instances where sentences are incomplete or lack logical flow, such as the abrupt ending of the first paragraph. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would significantly enhance the coherence of the writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'recycling', 'waste', and 'economy'. Spelling errors are frequent, such as 'Now adays', 'hygenic', 'bottels', 'progrrames', 'bussiness', and 'compaigns'. These errors occasionally distract the reader, though they do not fully impede communication. To achieve a higher score, you should work on using a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary and focus on accurate spelling of common academic and general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as incorrect punctuation, missing articles, and subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'the recycling has decrease significantly'). Punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and periods. The frequent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction indicate a need for more practice with sentence variety and proofreading. Focusing on mastering basic sentence patterns before attempting more complex structures will help improve the overall accuracy of your writing.
