On the one hand, the primary reason while most individuals fail to recycle their wastes is that they believe that the government should be responsible for rubbish management. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely impacts your score. Because the essay is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, you have failed to address the task requirements fully. The ideas presented are very brief and lack the necessary development, examples, and depth required for a Task 2 response. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words, providing detailed explanations and concrete examples for each of your points. Currently, the response is too short to demonstrate the ability to develop an argument effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows a basic attempt at organization with an introduction and two body paragraphs. However, the abrupt ending makes it impossible to evaluate the overall progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand', but the lack of completion means the logical flow is interrupted. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts and using a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more smoothly throughout the entire essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally functional but limited. You use some relevant terms like 'rubbish management' and 'alleviate', but the range is narrow and repetitive. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'state the reason to this view' (should be 'reason for') and 'preoccupied their mind'. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to environmental issues and avoid repeating basic words. Focus on using collocations more accurately to express your ideas with greater clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains several grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. For example, 'It has noticed recently' should be 'It has been noticed recently', and 'what to be done alleviate this' is missing a verb and preposition ('what needs to be done to alleviate this'). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and the errors in passive voice and verb forms are frequent. To improve, practice using a wider range of complex sentence structures and proofread your work to correct basic subject-verb agreement and tense errors.
