Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is commonly seen that men, women and children do not recycle their waste either from household or industries as much as they could. There are several reasons that they do not prefer to recycle and this problem can be solved by their own contribution as well as with the help of government authorities.
A major reason is that many nationals are extremely occupied in their daily schedules such as education, work projects, working overtime along with managing their household chores. Due to this reason they are not able to get time to go the recycling stations during their open hours and they prefer to throw their recycle items away or mix that with other waste instead of recycling. They are neglecting its effect on environment that cause soil pollution, water pollution, and lack of fertile land in their countries. Additionally, this is because the government is not strict. People are not paying attention to recycle their waste in their maximum capacity as they believe that nobody is noticing them and this freedom cause many problems for society as a whole. To illustrate, Indian Government is not having specific regulations for recycling waste so people do not care about it at all. Therefore, people's overwhelmingly busy schedules and freedom from rules are main responsible aspects of their nature to recycle less from their capacity.
On the other side, I believe the foremost important solution for this problem can be individual support of people in which they can change their mindset and they should guide others such as parents should guide their offspring, employers should enforce strict policies for their labor to recycle waste as much as they can. Proper waste monitoring systems should be there to check if they follow these or not. In addition to this, authorities should enforce permanent regulations and appoint municipal officers to do proper inspections in residential areas and commercial industries.
To conclude, it is understandable that people are occupied in their day-to-day lives and government lack permanent rules but people as a community altogether can take some steps and authorities must work closely to monitor the situation so that this problem can be solved.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. Your position is clear throughout the essay. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the point about busy schedules is well-explained, the section on government regulations is a bit repetitive and relies on a single example. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph provides a more balanced exploration of the topic. For instance, you could have expanded on how specific government incentives, rather than just 'strictness,' might encourage recycling. Overall, the response is relevant and covers all requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Additionally,' 'To illustrate,' and 'On the other side' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as in the sentence 'this freedom cause many problems,' where the antecedent of 'this' is slightly ambiguous. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main parts of the prompt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is always explicit.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'municipal officers,' 'regulations,' and 'offspring.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'nationals' (when referring to citizens or people in general), 'recycle items' (should be 'recyclable items'), and 'responsible aspects of their nature' (which is awkward phrasing). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the score. To improve, focus on learning common collocations related to environmental topics and ensure you are using the correct word forms (e.g., noun vs. adjective).
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('this freedom cause' instead of 'causes') and minor prepositional errors ('recycle less from their capacity'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward phrasings that affect the flow of your writing. While you attempt complex sentences, they are not always error-free. To reach a higher band, focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed with greater precision.
